Redgate Software creates simple software to help data professionals get the most value out of any database. The data community trusts Redgate to balance speed to market, team collaboration, and data protection.

Redgate is seeking a talented DevOps Engineer with a strong software engineering background to work with the teams building one of our key products, Redgate Monitor. Working closely with the Group Software Architect, engineering teams and Technical Operations you’ll own and evolve the build, test and release pipelines. You’ll design, automate and maintain our CI/CD pipelines, improve feedback cycles, and increase test reliability and coverage which will enable the teams to ship high-quality software quickly and safely. Where required, you’ll also use Infrastructure as Code to manage the infrastructure that supports our on-premises and cloud-based build, test and delivery processes, and provide operational insight into how customers run Redgate Monitor in their own environments.

Over the next year, we’ll be evolving our engineering organisation to further embrace a DevOps mindset, and you’ll be at the forefront of enabling that change. As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll bridge the gap between engineering and operations, helping teams to confidently build, package and release changes, and to learn from production usage of the product.

What makes you Redgate’s next DevOps Engineer?

  • You’ll come from a software engineering background and are comfortable working with production code.
  • You have strong experience in build engineering: managing CI/CD pipelines, troubleshooting build and test failures, optimising workflows, and working with version control systems.
  • You’ll have practical experience of DevOps practices and embedding these within teams.
  • You’ll understand how DevOps can support and improve development and operational work.
  • You have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (and cloud platforms, with a strong preference for AWS).
  • You’ll have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
  • You’ll have experience working with AWS, with a solid understanding of core services and best practices.
  • You’ll possess strong scripting and automation skills (e.g. C#, Bash, PowerShell).

What’s the package?

A great benefits package. Salary is circa £70,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You’ll work about 40 hours a week, with flexible work time.
