Redfox is proud to be partnering with Double H Nurseries Ltd to appoint a Commercial Director. This is a truly unique leadership role operating at the intersection of FMCG and horticulture, with direct responsibility for key strategic partnerships including one of the UK’s most respected retailers, Marks & Spencer.
The Opportunity
As Commercial Director, you will join both the Senior Management Team and Board of Directors, taking full ownership of the commercial function across the business. You will lead and evolve one of the company’s most important relationships with Marks & Spencer while also shaping the commercial direction across a diverse portfolio of retail and e-commerce customers. Alongside this, you will provide commercial leadership to their subsidiary business, The Horti House, ensuring alignment between innovation, supply, and customer demand. This is a role with real influence and long-term trajectory, with a clear pathway toward broader organisational leadership alongside the Finance Director and Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the commercial strategy across all customer channels
- Lead and develop strategic partnerships, most notably with Marks & Spencer
- Drive revenue growth, margin optimisation, and long-term customer value
- Provide commercial leadership and oversight to The Horti House
- Lead and develop teams across: Account Management, NPD, Supply Chain, Dutch Sourcing Office
- Align commercial delivery with operational capability across a fast-moving, perishable supply chain
- Influence innovation pipelines and NPD strategy in line with customer insight
- Contribute at Board level to the future direction and leadership of the business
The Individual
We are seeking a commercially driven, highly credible leader with the gravitas to operate at senior level with major UK retailers. You will bring:
- Proven experience managing key accounts with major multiple retailers (experience with Marks & Spencer would be highly advantageous but not essential)
- A strong track record within FMCG and/or perishable supply chains (horticulture or fresh produce ideal but not essential)
- Exceptional relationship-building capability at senior stakeholder level
- Commercial sharpness with the ability to balance growth, margin, and service
- Strong leadership experience—building and developing high-performing teams
- Resilience and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
