Are you passionate about ensuring top quality produce while driving operational efficiency? Our clients Technical team is seeking a Product Technician to play a vital role in managing the quality and stock rotation of produce – from arrival to despatch. In this position, you’ll support intake, inspection, packhouse operations, and more – maximising yield while minimising operational costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Intake & Quality Control
- Provide expert opinions on borderline arrivals
- Assist the intake team as needed
- Reporting & Supplier Relations
- Handle supplier and internal enquiries
- Build quality-focused supplier relationships
- Provide constructive feedback and lead quality improvement initiatives
- Re-Inspection & Stock Management
- Ensure timely and complete re-inspection of P/Os
- Communicate product status updates internally
- Monitor stock usage and drive efficient rotation
- Packhouse Support
- Set and monitor packhouse quality standards
- Provide guidance during quality issues
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in defect levels
- General Duties
- Cover for the Product Manager and QA team as required
- Participate in trials and staff training
- Support other ad hoc tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of management experience
- Strong written and verbal English communication
- Familiarity with grading standards, product specifications, and post-harvest handling
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Navision, and PowerPoint
