A leading fresh produce grower is seeking an experienced Irrigation Manager to take ownership of irrigation and fertigation systems across a large-scale, high-performance cropping operation. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is passionate about precision irrigation, plant performance, and team development—someone who enjoys turning data, observation, and best practice into outstanding crop outcomes.
About the Role
The Irrigation Manager is responsible for delivering crop irrigation and fertigation programs that maximise yield and quality. Working closely with the Operations Manager, the role leads the irrigation team and ensures all systems, infrastructure, and water budgets are operating at best-practice standard. The position plays a key role in crop decision-making, climate and tunnel management, data collection, and continuous improvement across production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute irrigation programs aligned with crop demand and best practice
- Manage fertigation, fertiliser, and chemical injection programs
- Oversee and maintain irrigation infrastructure and systems
- Monitor crop water use, EC, fertiliser inputs, and plant health
- Lead, train, and develop the irrigation team
- Support climate and tunnel management decisions with the wider technical team
- Contribute to propagation planning and plant quality outcomes
- Ensure all irrigation operations meet safety and compliance standards
- Assist with technical planning for new crops, systems, and opportunities
- Provide data and insights to support weekly technical meetings and business planning
