Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring all glasshouse systems, production equipment, and associated facilities operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption. You will work closely with multiple departments to reduce breakdowns, improve reliability, and support a safe and productive working environment across the site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety
- Carry out all work with full awareness of personal and colleague health and safety
- Complete daily machinery checks before commencing work
- Ensure all tasks comply with health and safety regulations and site risk assessments
- Perform routine servicing and inspections on electrical, mechanical, and production equipment
- Diagnose, repair, and prevent mechanical and electrical breakdowns
- Maintain boilers, high-pressure pumps, gearboxes, and other site machinery
- Carry out welding and basic plumbing where required
- Record all maintenance and repair activities accurately
- Monitor equipment performance and provide feedback to management
- Control tools, spares, and maintenance stores
- Support improvement projects and cost control initiatives
- Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and specialist engineers
- Ensure all legal and compliance standards are met
- Work effectively as part of a driven, motivated team
- Communicate professionally and represent company values at all times
- Take responsibility for personal development and continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing production or industrial machinery
- Flexible approach to working hours
