We are seeking a Commercial Crop Production Manager to join our client’s dynamic team and make a real impact on farm productivity and sustainability. About Our Client: They are a leading independent commodity specialist, known for their deep commitment to both their customers and our staff. Their mission is to deliver a high-value service offering across their grower base by combining commercial responsibility with technical expertise. The Role: This pivotal full-time, permanent position involves overseeing and developing their comprehensive crop input portfolio. You’ll be the go-to expert, providing essential agronomic guidance and building lasting customer relationships across the agricultural sector. Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do: * Drive Commercial Growth: Manage and expand their portfolio of crop production inputs and services, identifying and securing new business opportunities through proactive outreach and market engagement. * Deliver Expert Agronomy: Provide tailored advice on crop nutrition, crop protection, seed selection, and cultivation practices, applying knowledge of FACTS and BASIS best practice to guide decisions on input selection and use. * Cultivate Relationships: Maintain and grow existing customer relationships through a combination of field visits, strategic advice, and ongoing service delivery. * Champion Sustainability: Support customers in adopting sustainable, profitable, and compliant farming practices. * Collaborate & Innovate: Coordinate with internal procurement, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure product availability and high standards of service. You’ll also contribute to internal planning, offering insights from customer interactions and industry trends. You may also represent the business at relevant trade events and technical forums. * Ensure Compliance: Utilise digital platforms and CRM systems for activity tracking and reporting, ensuring all customer records and advice comply with regulatory standards and company protocols. Who We’re Looking For: * Proven Expertise: A strong track record in commercial agronomy or crop input sales within the agricultural sector is essential. * UK Cropping Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of UK cropping systems and agronomic challenges. * Relationship Builder: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships. * Organised & Tech-Savvy: Effective organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
