What you’ll be doing:
- Define excellence: Create and manage “gold standard” product and raw material specifications—covering taste, texture, appearance, and shelf life.
- Own quality & compliance: Ensure all products meet UK food regulations (including allergen labelling and safety standards).
- Champion supplier quality: Approve, audit, and build strong relationships with suppliers and partners.
- Drive continuous improvement: Use data and insights to reduce waste, improve shelf life, and elevate product quality.
- Lead quality management: Oversee intake and production checks to ensure consistency with agreed benchmarks.
- Support innovation: Collaborate with buying and marketing teams to develop sustainable, mission-led products.
What you’ll bring:
- Solid grounding in food production and safety (HACCP Level 3, Food Safety Level 3 minimum).
- Experience with supplier auditing and UK food standards.
- Strong sensory evaluation skills and an eye for detail.
- Ability to run shelf-life and microbiological assessments.
