A highly regarded workspace D&B based in South West London is currently seeking a well-experienced, work-winning pitch designer to join on a permanent basis. You will be joining a creative and exciting team with a great industry reputation.
Responsibilities
- Successfully pitch to potential clients and secure projects.
- Understand, analyze, and develop client briefs.
- Be fully aware of design, direction, and legislative issues within the industry.
- Value creativity and innovation in developing workplace solutions.
- Consider clients\’ expectations and long-term needs.
- Listen to and understand the needs of all relevant stakeholders.
- Identify potential risks related to clients\’ objectives and accommodate future changes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and internal teams to ensure designs stay within budget and meet client needs.
- Communicate design progress effectively to internal teams and external parties.
- Present key aspects of the design to obtain client sign-offs at each stage.
- Professionally present the commercial benefits to clients.
- Stay informed about new business trends and best practices.
- Participate actively in business development.
Direct Reports
You will oversee at least one support designer, responsible for workload distribution, mentorship, skills development, and performance management through regular mentoring, 1:1s, and appraisals. Opportunities exist to grow your skills as a design leader. Additional support designers may be allocated based on workload.
Skills and Experience
- At least 6 years\’ experience in commercial D&B design.
- Proven track record in presenting and pitching to clients.
- Strong technical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent commercial awareness.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, especially for pitches and tenders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite; knowledge of other relevant software is a plus.
- Effective time management skills.
- Positive, professional \’can do\’ attitude.
- Ability to foster teamwork and shared purpose.
- Ownership of personal and team objectives.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
