About the Role
A specialist high-end residential contractor is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of luxury refurbishment and bespoke new build projects across West Sussex and Hampshire. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to exceptional quality standards expected within the prime residential sector. This role suits a hands-on Site Manager with strong leadership skills and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site activities from project start through to completion and handover
- Lead subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers to maintain programme and quality
- Deliver works to high-end finish standards
- Control site logistics, sequencing and short-term programmes
- Maintain full health & safety compliance including toolbox talks and site inspections
- Liaise with Project Managers, clients, architects and consultants
- Monitor progress and resolve site issues efficiently
- Manage snagging, commissioning and final handover stages
- Plan materials, labour and resources effectively
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within high-end or residential construction
- Strong background in refurbishment and/or bespoke new build projects
- Excellent knowledge of finishing trades and quality control
- Strong leadership and subcontractor management skills
- Ability to run site independently as No.1
- Organised, proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Strong communication and client-facing ability
Essential Qualifications
- SMSTS
- CSCS (Management level preferred)
- First Aid at Work
Desirable
- Trade background (carpentry or similar advantageous)
- Experience delivering high-value residential projects
- Experience with complex refurbishments or listed buildings
