As Estimator, you’ll play a key part in shaping and winning projects. Working closely with design, commercial, and delivery teams, you’ll produce accurate, competitive tenders that reflect the company’s D&B methodology. You’ll report directly into the Senior Estimator, gaining support, mentorship, and clear progression opportunities as you take on more responsibility within the pre‑construction function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost plans, estimates, and tender submissions for CAT A/B fit‑out projects up to £2m+.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and design information to produce accurate pricing.
  • Use Bluebeam to review, mark up, and quantify drawings efficiently.
  • Produce structured cost breakdowns and tender documentation using Microsoft Excel.
  • Lead subcontractor procurement during tender stage, including enquiries, comparisons, and negotiations.
  • Work closely with the design team to provide cost advice, value engineering options, and buildability input.
  • Attend site visits, client meetings, and design workshops to understand scope and constraints.
  • Develop tender programmes, preliminaries, and risk assessments.
  • Support bid presentations and help secure new work.
  • Maintain and strengthen supply chain relationships to ensure competitive and reliable pricing.
  • Provide clear handovers to delivery and commercial teams for successful tenders.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within commercial fit‑out or Design & Build.
  • Strong understanding of CAT A, CAT B, and workplace refurbishment scopes.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam for drawing review and measurement.
  • Strong Excel skills for cost planning, tender breakdowns, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and design information with accuracy.
  • Solid supply chain knowledge across interiors and fit‑out trades.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present cost information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders and work under pressure.
  • Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred but not essential.
