This Role:

The Development Manager within our Professional Services business unit enables delivery of high-quality development projects across the business. This role also oversees the development, organisation, and support of a large international team of Development Consultants.

The ideal candidate will have a development background and is detail-oriented, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and has a proven track record of managing technical teams.

This position is particularly suited to someone with a strong technical background and significant business experience leading a team of Oracle / JD Edwards Developers across multiple platforms and disciplines.

This is a full-time permanent role which may be home based in the UK/Ireland or in a hybrid structure from our Shared Service Centre in Limerick.

Responsibilities of this role include:

Reporting to the Professional Services Director, this role is accountable for managing a large technical team and delivering a wide range of projects and initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead, motivate and develop a high performing team of Developers who design, build and test product version release enhancements and project customisations.
  • Manage and coordinate resources across the group to optimise team utilisation and contribute to business growth.
  • Provide end-to-end leadership and management across the employee lifecycle
  • Drive a culture of process improvement to maximise efficiency and champion operational excellence.
  • Data Analysis and forecasting to support capacity management and projected business requirements.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects—ranging in size, complexity, and duration—ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Qualifications & Previous Experience:

  • Bachelor\’s degree preferred or equivalent experience. Business focus or a relevant technical qualification.
  • 5+ years’ experience in full-function people management with a strong technical background to effectively support and understand projects and solutions.
  • Technical expertise should include;
  • Development experience supporting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 or above,
  • VBCS and OIC
  • OMW, RDA, FDA, BSFN (C++ and NER),
  • Debugging (including C++ MS visual studio),
  • Developing Orchestrator REST API solutions.
  • Experience in a customer facing role, including pre-sales activities such as responding to RFPs, building estimates and Statements of Work.
  • Strong focus on “Standardise” and “Simplify” ways of working
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly driven and self-motivated with a proactive, hands-on approach and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results on time.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously, with a structured and analytical approach to prioritising and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of data reporting tools and ways of working “Slice and dicing of information”.
  • A strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote working environment, demonstrating initiative, clear communication, and accountability.
