Job Title: Finance Director

Reports to: Managing Director

Location: London – King\’s Cross

Role Summary

The Finance Director will have overall responsibility for the financial health, performance, and governance of Redemption. Working closely with the Managing Director and Operations Director in the London office, they will develop and execute a financial strategy to drive profitable growth, optimise unit economics, and prepare the business for a successful sale event. This is a hands‑on, office‑based leadership role within a premium, brand‑led, multi‑site hospitality business with a strong social‑impact mission and is not a remote position.

Responsibilities Commercial & Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the Managing Director and Operations Director to optimise financial performance, strategic positioning, and long-term value creation.
  • Lead the financial strategy to support profitable growth and a future exit, including scenario planning and investor‑ready forecasts.
  • Provide rigorous financial insight, analysis, and challenge to support high‑quality Board and leadership decision‑making.

Financial Performance & Value Creation

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling across all business channels.
  • Drive EBITDA, gross margin, and cashflow improvements through pricing strategy, cost control, unit‑economics analysis, and disciplined capital allocation.
  • Optimise working capital, cash management, and funding arrangements to support growth and resilience.

Reporting, Governance & Compliance

  • Produce investor‑grade financial reporting, forecasts, and KPI dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the business is prepared for external financial scrutiny, due diligence, and audit processes.
  • Maintain robust financial compliance, including statutory reporting, tax, audit, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and risk management.
  • Maximise tax efficiency across the group.

M&A, Legal & Corporate

  • Lead the financial aspects of any M&A, fundraising, or exit processes, including valuation support and due diligence.
  • Act as Company Secretary and Head of Legal, overseeing corporate governance, contracts, and legal compliance.

People, Systems & Infrastructure

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing finance team, including external management accountants.
  • Lead and manage the company\’s HR function and fractional procurement support.
  • Scale and improve finance systems, controls, and processes to support growth and professionalisation.

Brand & Mission Alignment

  • Ensure financial decisions support Redemption\’s premium brand positioning and social‑impact mission.

Hiring Requirements Experience & Background

  • Proven experience as a Finance Director, CFO, or senior financial leader within a medium‑size, brand‑led consumer, hospitality, retail, or multi‑site operating business.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing businesses for investment, exit, or significant external scrutiny.
  • Experience leading finance functions through growth, professionalisation, and founder‑led transitions is highly desirable.

Commercial & Strategic Capability

  • Highly commercial, with deep financial and analytical expertise.
  • Strong track record of improving EBITDA, gross margin, cashflow, and return on investment.
  • Clear understanding of unit economics, pricing strategy, and margin management in operational businesses.
  • Comfortable operating at Board level and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker who can translate vision into practical, executable plans.

Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Formal accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of modern, cloud‑based finance and accounting systems.
  • Experience scaling finance infrastructure, reporting, and internal controls.
  • Confident people leader with the ability to build and develop high‑performing teams.
