About the Role

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing existing client relationships, driving revenue growth, and identifying new business opportunities within these clients.

This role requires a strong combination of sales expertise, customer relationship management, and strategic planning to meet and exceed sales targets. The ideal candidate will be a proactive communicator who understands clients\’ needs and can deliver effective solutions to maximise satisfaction and retention.

The role is customer focused and responsible for supervision of day-to-day customer relationships and service delivery. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working within a demanding role where the balance of customer satisfaction and service delivery is critical. You will be expected to spend time in our Croydon offices but also on-site meeting our customers and building relationships with them.

The business has developed a strong reputation for providing high quality services to hundreds of organisations in the area and has ambitious plans to grow further.

Reporting to the part-time Sales & Marketing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day activities, which ensure all client requirements are fulfilled within agreed specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and accounts.
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and through prospecting efforts.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals and post-sale follow-up.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (technical, marketing, operations, finance, and customer support) to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements in line with company policies.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adjust sales strategies.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and forecasts using our CRM tools
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to promote the company\’s products/services.
  • Continually update and develop product and market knowledge.
  • Making customers aware of suitable products available to meet their needs.
  • Customer visits quarterly and creation of roadmaps.
  • Monitoring when contracts are due for renewal and contacting customers with their new terms/prices for the coming year.

People Management

  • Some people management responsibilities required to ensure the smooth relationship between both the technical team and sales and support teams.

Key Skills / Experience Required

  • Extensive experience of working within a client-focused environment
  • Very strong interpersonal, communication and people management skills
  • A mentality of always delivering on commitments
  • Positive attitude and a can-do attitude
  • Strong process experience and understanding of managing to best practice standards
  • Self-motivated and pro-active approach
  • Driving License desirable

  • Well organised and commercially aware
  • A natural ability to build customer rapport
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise own workload
  • Experience of Sage accounting software and/or use of CRM based programmes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor\’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master\’s degree is a plus).
  • 3–7 years of experience in B2B sales, account management, or business development.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Proficiency with CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

  • Experience in IT services and Cyber Security
  • Familiarity with data-driven sales approaches and pipeline management.
  • Understanding of digital sales channels and marketing automation tools.

  • Sales revenue growth

  • Customer satisfaction (NPS or CSAT scores)
  • New business acquisition rate
  • Accuracy of sales forecasts

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based commission
  • On-target earnings (OTE) are unlimited, with an expected benchmark of Β£75k
