We are creating a dedicated Charges Team to deliver fair, transparent, and legally compliant service charges and income services for our residents. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing service and make a real difference to our communities.
We are looking for a Charges Officer to support the Charges Team Leader in shaping the service. You will play a key role in delivering statutory service charges, recharges, and income recovery services for tenants and leaseholders, ensuring compliance with housing legislation and best practice.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include delivery of accurate and transparent service charges, support income collection to maximise Housing Revenue Account performance. You will ensure we are compliant with relevant legislation and consultation requirements while providing excellent customer service to residents.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with knowledge of housing service charges and income management with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. This includes recharges, former tenant debts, and support recovery action, including legal proceedings where appropriate. You will be working with residents and stakeholders, resolving disputes and supporting positive customer outcomes.
You should hold a minimum level 2 qualification in subjects relevant to the role. Have or be working towards a level 3 qualification related to Housing Management. Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience specific to the role or with transferable skills within the social housing sector with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
