We are searching for an experienced community professional with direct experience in policy or trust & safety to join Reddit’s Community team. The Community team plays a key role in helping Reddit realize its mission: empowering communities and making their knowledge accessible to everyone.
As Staff Community Manager, Community Policy & Strategic Response (EMEA), you will support and partner directly with our global growth organization, providing critical expertise and guidance on ensuring our community policies are understood and enforced consistently across our global markets. You will help partner teams make critical business and platform decisions under significant time challenges and stakeholder scrutiny, with the community’s best interests always top of mind. You will handle crisis situations that require cross-functional coordination and communication to leadership, in order to mitigate serious risks to the company or the Reddit community. You will need to be personally resilient, flexible, and able to direct multiple stakeholders towards agreeable solutions. To do this effectively, you are likely someone who can think strategically about risk, while also being able to probe the details of fast-moving situations. A candidate who has operated at the intersection of policy, program management, and business operations may be particularly suitable.
You Will:
- Ensure that our international growth strategies, community programs, processes, and initiatives are informed and in alignment with Reddit’s central community policies.
- Proactively identify and assess potential risks, work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop risk mitigation approaches, and drive cross-functional implementation, particularly relating to platform and business decisions that may impact international communities directly.
- Provide support and consultation on inbound community policy issues impacting international markets.
- Operate independently, and be confident managing multiple internal, cross-functional stakeholders, balancing differing opinions and goals, and assessing community-informed risk to provide effective recommendations.
- Ensure that communities in international markets are represented in any policy initiatives, decisions, and campaigns.
- Have a keenness for listening to the needs of communities, distilling those learnings into actionable insights, and facilitating community policy discussions with internal teams and international mods.
What We Can Expect From You:
- 7+ years of Community-oriented program and policy management experience in a role with global scope.
- Experience with platform moderation and knowledge of trends in online communities and social media - especially the possible impacts business decisions can have on communities in multiple cultural contexts.
- Expert communication skills and experience working in a multi-tasking and fast paced environment across multiple time zones.
- Experience providing decision support and advice to peers and leaders.
- Effective at consensus-building, and communicating with internal audiences.
Bonus Points
- Experience in Trust & Safety, Strategic Response, or Crisis Management.
- Native Fluency in English + proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, Italian.
- Experience managing decisions across multiple markets and languages.
- Experience driving and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience framing and briefing difficult decisions to leadership.
