The Emerging Markets product team works on high impact initiatives to fuel Reddit's international growth in markets like India, Brazil, and the Philippines. You will work on product experiences that help users discover and engage with their communities to drive daily active user growth.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and ship features, experiments, and products for millions of users to support our international growth.
- Communicate effectively within the team and across disciplines.
- Work closely with product managers and designers to craft compelling user experiences.
- Contribute meaningfully to our team’s strategy and participate in planning our future.
- Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight.
- Help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs.
- Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Review code and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and mocks.
- Participate with a team of thoughtful, fast-moving, and motivated engineers.
- Contribute to standards that improve developer workflows, recommend best practices, and help mentor engineers on the team.
- Continuously learn and improve your technical and non-technical abilities.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 5+ years of post-internship, full-time, hands-on, professional software development experience developing user-facing Android mobile native applications at scale, using Java or Kotlin.
- A champion of software engineering best practices such as unit/integration/end-to-end testing, design documents, CI/CD, A/B testing, code reviews, and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Experience with modern Android development frameworks such as Jetpack Compose and Kotlin coroutines.
- A strong drive to create value, whether for users or the company.
- Additional knowledge around GraphQL, REST, HTTP basics, and the ability to design maintainable APIs is a plus.
