Community Manager, French Speaking (Contract)

We are searching for a strategic community management and operations expert to join the International Community team and help grow Reddit outside of the US. This contract engagement is open to candidates based in the UK or Ireland.

As the Community Manager, you will be at the forefront of jumpstarting and fostering local communities. You will be an expert of the French market, proficient in English and French, and focused on proactive initiatives to build bridges with local volunteer moderators and innovate, iterate, refine, and scale our international consumer playbook. The insights derived from your relationships and experiments will help accelerate our growth in the market.

Required Qualifications:

• Gain a deep understanding of the market to identify user and local moderator challenges, and market opportunities.
• Iterate, innovate, and scale the consumer growth playbook by recognizing new opportunities, suggesting bold ideas and programs, and persuading internal teams to align on new plans.
• Build strategic plans to cultivate, recruit, educate, and grow a local community of moderators.
• Implement a conversion funnel designed to onboard power users and external creators, transforming them into active moderators.
• Communicate quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize and improve the international consumer growth playbook.
• Be obsessive about achieving aggressive goals and outcomes.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, set KPIs, and execute impactful community initiatives.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Community, Engineering, Marketing, Safety, and BD teams.

What We Can Expect From You:

• 5+ years of community development, project management, growth, operations, or product consulting experience with a track record of community-led projects that have driven business impact.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of French culture, including current events, politics, customs, traditions, language, topics of interest, and taboos.
• Nuanced comprehension of the digital landscape and the cultural intricacies inherent within it.
• Succinct and persuasive communicator, able to collaborate effectively across internal teams, local users, moderators, partners, content creators, influencers, etc.
• Results-obsessed, demonstrating outstanding execution and high attention to detail.
• Deep interest in developing and driving projects, framing issues and seeking solutions, testing hypotheses, and iterating on process improvements.
• Proficiency in French & English.
