We are seeking an experienced community professional with direct policy or trust & safety experience to join Reddit’s Community team. The team plays a key role in helping Reddit realize its mission: empowering communities and making their knowledge accessible to all.
As the Staff Community Manager for Community Policy & Strategic Response (EMEA), you will collaborate with our global growth organization, providing expertise to ensure community policies are understood and enforced consistently across markets. You will support decision-making under tight deadlines and stakeholder scrutiny, always prioritising community interests. You will handle crisis situations requiring cross-functional coordination and communicate with leadership to mitigate risks to the company and community.
Ideal candidates are resilient, flexible, and capable of managing multiple stakeholders, thinking strategically about risk, and probing fast-moving situations. Experience at the intersection of policy, program management, and business operations is valuable.
Responsibilities include:
- Align international growth strategies, community programs, and initiatives with Reddit’s central policies.
- Identify and assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and drive implementation, especially regarding platform and business decisions impacting international communities.
- Support inbound community policy issues in international markets.
- Manage multiple internal stakeholders, balancing differing opinions and assessing risks to provide recommendations.
- Ensure international communities are represented in policy initiatives, decisions, and campaigns.
- Listen to community needs, translate insights into actions, and facilitate policy discussions with teams and moderators.
What we seek in you:
- 7+ years of community-oriented program and policy management experience with a global scope.
- Knowledge of platform moderation, online communities, and social media trends, especially how business decisions impact diverse cultural communities.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in fast-paced, multi-time-zone environments.
- Ability to support decision-making and advise peers and leaders effectively.
- Strong consensus-building and internal communication skills.
Bonus points:
- Experience in Trust & Safety, Strategic Response, or Crisis Management.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish, German, French, Portuguese, or Italian.
- Experience managing decisions across multiple markets and languages.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects under deadlines.
- Experience briefing leadership on complex decisions.
