OUR SCHOOL
Reddam House Berkshire is a co‑educational, independent school, housed in a Victorian mansion and set in 125 acres of wood and parkland. Throughout the school our emphasis is on independence; we expect our students to work hard in the belief that success is in his or her own hands. From babies in our Early Learning School through to our Sixth Formers moving on to University, students are active participants in setting the direction of their educational journey, developing a love of learning and being empowered with the self‑discipline that provides the bedrock for success. We have 800+ students between the ages of 3 months and 18 years registered here (day students and boarders from age 11+). VACANCY
We currently have a vacancy for a part time School Receptionist (job share) starting from September 2026. Term Time + 8 weeks during school holidays including attendance during INSET days, Open Mornings. Hours: Mon & Tues 08.00 – 17.30, Wed 08.00 - 12.30. Total hours: 23 hours per week. During school holidays: Mon to Fri 09.00 – 14.00. Total hours: 25 hours per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reception – act as the first point of contact for the School: welcoming visitors and responding to telephone and email enquiries in a helpful and constructive manner and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner.
- Registering and signing in all visitors/contractors, following safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety and security of our students.
- Communicating with parents regarding all aspects of school life, receiving and passing on information between parents and teachers accurately and promptly.
- Receive parcels and deliveries; manage both incoming and outgoing post and arrange special deliveries when necessary.
- Ensure the Reception Area and Billiard Room is kept smart and tidy and all relevant marketing materials are kept up to date.
- General administrative support – support the School Administrator with tasks as required, such as student attendance; assist with admissions related tasks as required, including preparations for and assistance at Open Mornings and other related school events; maintain the internal telephone list and distribute accordingly; using Microsoft packages and the Management Information System to help support with various administrative tasks and duties.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Educated to GCSE in English and Maths.
- Experience of working with students/young people.
- Previous experience in working in schools in a similar role would be desirable although training is offered.
- Be reliable and flexible.
- Calm and efficient manner and ability to work under pressure/multi‑task.
