Reddam House Berkshire is a co-educational, independent school, housed in a Victorian mansion and set in 125 acres of wood and parkland. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Commercial / Street Dance Teacher to deliver engaging, high-energy lessons across our two after-school dance clubs, catering to students aged 7–18. The sessions are designed to introduce students to popular street styles and commercial choreography, building confidence, rhythm, and performance skills across different age groups. There is also an exciting opportunity to choreograph routines for our annual school show.
Hours: Wednesday, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Term Time Only)
Start Date: September 2026
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and teach structured, high-energy commercial and street dance classes tailored to various age groups (7–18) across two club locations.
- Develop creative choreography that is age-appropriate, trend-relevant, and engaging for both children and teenagers.
- Support and motivate students in developing rhythm, coordination, performance presence, and self-expression.
- Prepare students for the annual school show, internal showcases, school competitions, and performance qualifications with the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) with confidence and consistency.
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and inclusive learning environment where every dancer feels empowered.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Relevant qualification in dance teaching, commercial/street dance training, or equivalent professional industry experience.
- Experience teaching children and teenagers (ages 7–18) in a school, after-school club, or studio setting.
- Strong understanding of foundational street dance styles (e.g., hip-hop, locking, popping) and commercial performance techniques.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills to keep varying age groups focused, inspired, and motivated.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
