Role summary

Reddam House Berkshire is a flagship UK school of the successful Reddam House International group. Set in 125 acres of wood and parkland, housed in a magnificent mansion building. Our emphasis is on independence; we expect our students to work hard in the belief that success is in their own hands. From babies in our Early Learning School through to our Sixth Formers moving on to University, students are active participants in setting the direction of their educational journey, developing a love of learning and being empowered with the self-discipline that provides the bedrock for success. We currently have a vacancy for a Science Technician working 25 hours per week during term time (including attendance at Open days and INSETs) to start on Monday 3rd November 2025.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting to the Senior Science Technician (and the Head of Science as Line Manager), provide support to the science department including assisting in experiment set-up, ensuring suitable laboratory equipment is available, adequately maintained and that it is appropriately used, and promote a safe working environment.
  • General responsibilities include: maintaining a productive working environment; liaising with pupils and teachers in preparation of practical experiments; stock taking; proper disposal of chemicals; retrieving and putting away equipment; and any ad-hoc tasks delegated by the Senior Science Technician or Teachers.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Demonstrable interest in Science
  • Education at GCSE and A level in a science-based subject
  • Familiarity with practical science
  • Proven experience in working in a school environment, desirable
  • Ability to engage and motivate young people
