Job description:

You will be working for one of the biggest scrap companies in the south east. Redcorn Ltd was established in 1992 and is currently London's largest ELV and Scrap Vehicle Specialist.

THE ROLE:

The role of the Transport Manager will be responsible for having continuous and effective control over all areas and a proactive role within the Companies Operation to ensure compliance with our Operators Licence. You will report to Head Office and work with the Transport Team Monday to Friday 06:00-16:00hrs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Full compliance with the operating legislation;
  • Ensure & oversee that an effective vehicle defect reporting system is in place;
  • Ensure all vehicles are operated in a roadworthy condition;
  • Ensure & oversee that correct vehicle maintenance procedures (PMI's and repairs) are in place;
  • Ensure vehicles are presented for PMI's on the correct dates;
  • Ensure drivers conduct daily walk round checks efficiently;
  • Attend prearranged VOSA inspections;
  • Oversee vehicle scheduling;
  • Responsible for effectively managing drivers;
  • Ensure Drivers are in compliance to EEC & Domestic driving rules;
  • Ensure driver's cards & VU's are downloaded at the required intervals;
  • Regularly check driver's digital & analogue tachographs charts/printouts;
  • Provide warnings of any driving infringements to drivers;
  • Provide training to drivers;
  • Be approachable & available for drivers.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

  • Previous experience of managing history and compliance;
  • Someone with a proactive 'can do' attitude;
  • You must possess excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • Must be willing to get involved in all duties and help with the day to day running of the site and must report all problems to head office.
