The RedFlag Accelerator sets the industry standard for detecting financial crime. By combining the latest red flags, crime models, and OSINT data, our system detects crimes across labor and sex trafficking, elder abuse, drug trafficking, scams, and potential APP fraud within financial transactions. The Project Lead role at RedCompass requires a strong focus on quality delivery, predictable outcomes, and meeting deadlines. This role is suited to someone who plans thoroughly, anticipates risks early, and actively tracks progress against scope, time, and budget. Project Leads are expected to identify issues before they escalate and take ownership of resolving them. Successful candidates are adaptable and able to work effectively within different client cultures. They can multitask across initiatives, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly and proactively, and keep stakeholders informed at all times.
A critical capability for this role is the ability to level communication appropriately for different audiences. Project Leads can confidently run weekly delivery meetings with client teams, translating complex detail into clear, actionable updates. They are equally capable of raising their communication style for senior stakeholders, presenting at Steering Committees in a succinct, articulate, and well-positioned manner. They know how to frame progress, risks, decisions, and recommendations so executives can quickly understand what matters and act with confidence.
RedCompass is seeking both emerging and experienced Project Leaders. While they possess the core technical capabilities of a traditional project manager, their value lies in execution and problem-solving. Project Leads at RedCompass get things done. They foresee challenges, make informed decisions under uncertainty, and lead teams and clients through complexity and change. Project Leads are resilient and outcome-focused. They take ownership for delivering change on time, within scope, and within budget.
You will be accountable for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, control, budgeting and closure of a project. Ensuring that the project goals and deliverables are clearly defined and communicated accordingly to responsible parties. Building, maintaining and tracking against a Mid-Level project Plan as a quality gate for both reporting to RedCompass Labs Management and how client delivery is to be measured. Facilitating client workshops to present, validate and achieve consensus on business approaches, requirements, plans and timelines. Asking penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts. Assessing and developing any contingency or recovery plans. Recognizing the importance of bridging the project and the business/Operations/technical teams without bias. Ensuring issues and risks are identified, tracked, actioned and mitigated in a timely manner to minimize uncertainty and impact to delivery schedule. Supporting the program manager in delivering the project as part of a wider portfolio. Demonstrating leadership qualities with a resilient approach to getting the job done. Managing stakeholders with regards to target deliverables against project schedule and any impacts go-live date. Creation of internal and external status reports for management partners.
You will own and be accountable for on point, effective, balanced project reporting at all levels, both to the client and internally at RedCompass Labs.
The Successful applicant will have/be:
- Global Team leadership experience, organizing and steering teams
- Strong planning, reporting and some budget management skills
- A problem solver and able to think through challenges and provide options for consideration with limited supervision
- Hands-on and analytical in understanding issues impacting progress
- Confident/experienced with senior stakeholders’ communications
- Experience with vendors and Technical/Development teams. Able to understand client landscape and build appropriate relationships
- Effective time management, able to re-prioritise tasks/manage demands in order to keep a project on schedule
- Clear coherent communication, authoritative
- Direct and pragmatic in decision-making process
- Able to have intelligent and informed conversations with clients, team, stakeholders, and suppliers
- Document outcomes and plan accordingly
Some Knowledge of overall payments landscape:
- Payment schemes (SEPA, SCTInst, UKFP, …)
- Understanding of various Clearing & Settlement Systems (e.g. Euro1, Step2, Target2, BACS, STET, Equens, Bundesbank,...)
Qualifications (not mandatory):
- PRINCE2 or equivalent Project Management certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Equivalent training and experience from a tier 1 consulting firm (Accenture, Deloitte, PWC, Bain, etc.) also acceptable
