Role Description

The Project Lead role at RedCompass requires a strong focus on quality delivery, predictable outcomes, and meeting deadlines. This role is suited to someone who plans thoroughly, anticipates risks early, and actively tracks progress against scope, time, and budget. Project Leads are expected to identify issues before they escalate and take ownership of resolving them.

Successful candidates are adaptable and able to work effectively within different client cultures. They can multitask across initiatives, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, communicate clearly and proactively, and keep stakeholders informed at all times. They are comfortable operating in the weeds, building plans, managing dependencies, tracking risks, and maintaining delivery momentum, while also stepping back to guide teams toward the broader objective.

A critical capability for this role is the ability to level communication appropriately for different audiences. Project Leads can confidently run weekly delivery meetings with client teams, translating complex detail into clear, actionable updates. They are equally capable of raising their communication style for senior stakeholders, presenting at Steering Committees in a succinct, articulate, and well-positioned manner. They know how to frame progress, risks, decisions, and recommendations so executives can quickly understand what matters and act with confidence.

RedCompass is seeking both emerging and experienced Project Leaders. While they possess the core technical capabilities of a traditional project manager, their value lies in execution and problem-solving. Project Leads at RedCompass get things done. They foresee challenges, make informed decisions under uncertainty, and lead teams and clients through complexity and change.

Project Leads are resilient and outcome-focused. They take ownership for delivering change on time, within scope, and within budget. They act as project managers, trusted advisors, team leaders, and problem solvers — often simultaneously. They know when to dive deep to fully understand an issue and when to make timely decisions with imperfect information.

Above all, Project Leads at RedCompass are strong communicators, forward-thinking planners, and committed delivery leaders. They lead with empathy and clarity, maintain accountability, and remain relentlessly focused on achieving results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be accountable for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, control, budgeting and closure of a project.
  • Ensuring that the project goals and deliverables are clearly defined and communicated accordingly to responsible parties.

  • Asking penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts.
  • Assessing and developing any contingency or recovery plans.
  • Recognizing the importance of bridging the project and the business/Operations/technical teams without bias.
  • Ensuring issues and risks are identified, tracked, actioned and mitigated in a timely manner to minimize uncertainty and impact to delivery schedule.
  • Supporting the program manager in delivering the project as part of a wider portfolio.
  • Demonstrating leadership qualities with a resilient approach to getting the job done.
  • Managing stakeholders with regards to target deliverables against project schedule and any impacts go-live date.
