About the Role
I’m currently supporting one of my clients in the energy sector who are looking for an experienced Technical Programme Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and lead large-scale technology platform projects within the digital workplace space, specifically focusing on the integration of technology solutions into the infrastructure of new and renovated buildings. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in project management, technology integration, and construction management, with a proven ability to collaborate with key stakeholders across multiple departments, including workplace management and IT.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and manage technology platform projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate communication with stakeholders to ensure project alignment and transparency across all parties.
- Conduct regular status meetings and provide detailed updates to senior management.
- Manage project governance within the overall capital framework.
- Build digital cost models and value cases for design and engineering activities.
- Technical Management
- Oversee the integration of new technologies into existing systems and business processes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Develop technology-agnostic requirements documents that deliver tangible business value.
- Collaborate with technology stakeholders to implement industry-standard solutions.
- Engage with global technology partners for effective connectivity, collaboration, and digital workplace operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Infrastructure Planning
- Work closely with architects and builders to determine the best locations for communications rooms, risers, and data cable routes.
- Lead the planning and execution of all aspects of IT connectivity within office environments, including:
- Computer room design (power, cooling, lighting, spatial planning).
- Wi-Fi network solutions.
- Circuit sizing, scoping, procurement, and provisioning.
- Audio-visual and video conferencing systems.
- Telephony solutions.
- Enterprise printing solutions.
- Desktop equipment provisioning.
- Project handover into operational support.
- Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of integration for the workplace capital projects process.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all IT personnel involved in the project.
- Be accountable for the safe, technically proficient delivery of IT services in new construction projects.
- Manage project budgets, including forecasting, reporting, and change management.
- Oversee stakeholder communication, including providing technical implementation plans and project reports.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience as a Technical Programme Manager in the technology or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (Agile, Waterfall).
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently under pressure.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of technology integration and construction management.
- Familiarity with building engineering and real estate best practices.
- Experience with Agile project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps (ADO) for project management.
- Accreditation in building projects and external building standards.
- Proven experience in delivering real estate projects over 1 million square feet.
