I am looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to join a scaleup on a mission to transform UK healthcare with their innovative FinTech solutions. At a time when the healthcare system is evolving rapidly, you would be pivotal in building products that focus on accessibility and affordability for their customers.
As a high-growth start-up, they have launched their initial flagship product and are picking up speed to scale their next phase. It is important to mention that the organisation is part of a larger group meaning that you have all the agility and pace of joining a scale-up but with the stability and security of an established player (who are also a purpose driven B-corp).
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and collaborate with engineers to build and support scalable, low-maintenance solutions.
- Work alongside Product, Design, Operations, and Growth teams to prioritize and tackle customer-facing and internal challenges.
- Ensure systems that are being built are extensible, sustainable, and high-performing that deliver real value.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a high-performance, innovative team culture.
- Effective communication, collaboration and leadership skills.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based application architecture and stack, preferably including AWS.
- Good understanding of Docker and experience with CI/CD tooling.
- Good understanding of security and observability best practices and tooling.
What else?
- Experience building and maintaining high-traffic server-side web applications.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced product-focused environment.
- Good understanding of other programming languages such as Java, C#, C++, Rust, Go or Python.
- Experience in healthcare or finance domains.

- Hybrid working – 3 days in London (Tues-Thurs) – some flex if needed.
