Overview
We are supporting a major global energy organisation in scaling advanced AI capability across its Supply, Trading & Shipping (ST&S) business supporting teams across Europe and the US.
We are looking for 2x Senior AI Engineers with strong, hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying production-grade GenAI and agentic AI solutions within enterprise environments.
This is a delivery-focused engineering role, not a traditional data science or research-led position.
The client is specifically seeking individuals who have successfully implemented real-world AI systems that support business operations and commercial decision-making.
The successful candidates will work closely with trading and commercial stakeholders to develop practical AI-driven solutions within a fast-paced, iterative environment.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design, build, and deploy production-grade GenAI / LLM / agentic AI solutions
β’ Develop scalable AI workflows and integrations aligned to business use cases
β’ Work directly with trading and commercial users to translate requirements into practical AI solutions
β’ Build and maintain AI orchestration, evaluation, and monitoring capabilities
β’ Integrate AI services with enterprise systems, APIs, and data pipelines
β’ Support rapid prototyping and iterative delivery of AI functionality
β’ Contribute to architecture, tooling, and engineering best practices across AI delivery
Required Experience
β’ Strong hands-on AI engineering experience focused on GenAI, LLMs, and agentic AI systems
β’ Proven experience deploying AI solutions into live production environments
β’ Deep practical understanding of modern AI tooling and frameworks
β’ Experience with agent frameworks, orchestration, evaluation methodologies, and AI workflow design
β’ Strong Python engineering capability
β’ Experience building APIs, integrations, and scalable data pipelines
β’ Comfortable working in cloud-native and containerised environments
β’ Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
β’ Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving delivery environments
Highly Desirable
β’ Experience within commodities, trading, front-office, or market-facing environments
β’ Energy or oil & gas industry exposure
β’ Experience supporting globally distributed teams across UK and US time zones
Important Context
The client has already screened a number of candidates with strong theoretical or traditional ML/data science backgrounds who lacked depth in production-grade GenAI delivery.
This role requires candidates with genuine hands-on experience implementing enterprise AI systems in real-world environments.
Candidates with primarily academic, experimental, or early-stage AI exposure are unlikely to be suitable.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
β’ Production deployment of GenAI / LLM / agentic AI systems
β’ Strong engineering and integration capability
β’ Practical experience with AI orchestration and evaluation
β’ Ability to engage directly with business stakeholders
β’ Delivery-focused mindset with strong commercial awareness
