Are you a highly skilled and exceptionally fast-paced Social Media Producer with a passion for daily news, entertainment, and trending content? We are seeking a proactive Contract Social Media Producer to join our collaborative and dynamic media team. This role is crucial for delivering short, snappy, and high-quality video and card content across major platforms, supporting both national and international media coverage. You will thrive in a rapid-turnaround environment where your ability to produce impactful assets quickly and consistently will be key to success. You will report to a senior team leader and be a core part of a supportive, results-driven team.
Key Responsibilities & Typical Day
- Fast-Paced Production: Pitching and producing a significant daily volume of high-quality, on-brand assets. This output will typically include a combination of 4–5 social media cards or 2 short videos, or a mix of both, tailored to the day's news cycle.
- Asset Creation: Capturing and processing essential assets, typically including 4–5 picture stills for use in cards or wider content.
- Rapid Response: Demonstrating the ability to immediately "jump on" breaking news, producing accurate, high-quality content under tight deadlines.
- Multi-Platform Delivery: Optimizing and deploying content natively across key platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and TikTok.
- Editorial Prowess: Focusing production efforts on daily news, entertainment, lifestyle topics, and emerging trends.
- Media Support: Assisting in the production of content for both national and international media coverage.
- Brand Experience: Contributing creative assets to support broader brand experiences and content strategy initiatives.
What You'll Bring (Required Experience)
- Experience: Not less than 2–3 years of proven experience in social media production, specifically within a news, media, or high-volume content environment.
- Skill: Expert-level ability to produce short, snappy video and graphic/card content to a high standard quickly and efficiently.
- Mindset: A strong focus on trending topics, news cycles, and cultural moments.
- Drive: Proven track record of operating effectively in a fast-paced, rapid-turnaround production setting while maintaining excellent quality.
- Details: Experience working with UK media standards is highly desirable.
Start Date: Early 2026
Duration: Initially a 3 month contract with a possible extension
Working Pattern: 5 Days Per Week
Compensation: Competitive day rate of £180 - £200.
