Working for a high-profile, fast-growing consumer ecommerce brand, the Lead Product Designer will shape the future of their digital customer experience across all platforms for their millions of customers. The company is looking to build an in-house design team, moving away from agency reliance. This will be the first role and in time will hire and lead a small team. You’ll own the UX vision and strategy, lead the creation of their first design system and elevate the quality of their app-first experience across the full customer journey and all touch points.
The Lead Product Designer will be responsible for:
- Setting the strategy and vision for all digital touch points
- Driving improvements across their mobile app (iOS & android), booking flow, payments and innovation areas linking digital and physical experience
- Leading the creation of a scalable design system
- Staying hands-on with interaction, UI and visual design
- Working in close collaboration with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Brand and Insights
- In time, hiring and leading a small team
The Lead Product Designer will have:
- Experience leading design strategy for consumer-facing apps
- Worked at eCommerce companies e.g. retail, travel, ticketing, etc.
- Experience in design systems
- Excellent UX, UI and interaction design craft
- Ideally worked at both large corporate and smaller businesses or startup / scale-up
- Clear, concise communication skills, able to simplify complexity
- Commercial mindset and comfort owning end-to-end product features
