About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s Occupational Therapy Service as an Occupational Therapist Junior Practitioner. This is your chance to become part of a friendly, dedicated, and supportive team that’s committed to promoting the independence and well-being of adults and children across the borough.
We provide a broad range of interventions, including:
- Specialist moving and handling assessments
- Major adaptations, extensions, and specialist equipment provision
- Proportionate handed care
- Re-housing support
- Support on discharge to assess pathways
- Specialist seating and postural assessments
About Our Team
Our Occupational Therapy team is made up of experienced practitioners who are passionate about person-centred, strength-based collaborative working. We value creativity, shared learning, and supporting each other across complex cases. You\\\’ll work closely with Occupational Therapy Officers, support staff, and partner professionals in health and social care, benefitting from regular supervision, and peer forums.
We pride ourselves on maintaining a positive and inclusive culture, where new colleagues are warmly welcomed and continuously supported to develop their skills and thrive within the service.

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- A formal qualification in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Strong documentation and assessment skills
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational abilities
Desirable:
- Experience supporting children with disabilities
- Practice Educator accreditation
- Experience within social care
