Be the first point of contact for adults in need of care and support across Redcar and Cleveland. Our Adult Access Team is the front door to adult social care—where skilled, compassionate professionals make fast, informed decisions that shape lives from the very first interaction. This is a fast-paced, dynamic role where no two days are the same. You\’ll be working at the heart of a responsive, multi-agency environment, using your expertise to assess needs, manage risk, and connect people to the right support—whether that\’s through statutory services or our vibrant voluntary and community sector specialising in assistive technology.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to new referrals and enquiries with professionalism and empathy
  • Carry out timely, strengths-based assessments in line with the Care Act 2014
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and initiate appropriate action
  • Provide advice, signposting, and short-term interventions
  • Work closely with health, housing, and voluntary sector partners to promote independence and wellbeing
  • Support early intervention and prevention to reduce long-term care needs

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in adult social care, ideally in access, duty, or triage roles
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act, safeguarding, and eligibility criteria
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills
