Join our Countryside Team and help keep Redcar and Cleveland’s landscapes open, accessible, and thriving. This hands-on, rewarding role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, leading people, and making a visible difference to public access and green spaces.

Supporting the Public Rights of Way Officer, you’ll help manage and maintain footpaths, bridleways, woodland areas and country parks, ensuring they are safe, welcoming, and well promoted for residents and visitors alike. You’ll take the lead in supervising apprentices, trainees, volunteers and contractors, coordinating practical maintenance work while also helping to develop skills and confidence within the team.

From inspecting routes and carrying out surveys, to supporting conservation projects and improving recreational opportunities, no two days will be the same. You’ll work closely with colleagues, landowners, community groups and partner organisations, helping to build strong relationships and enhance the area as a destination for outdoor leisure and tourism. There will also be opportunities to contribute to volunteer programmes, support events and step in across wider countryside sites when needed.

We’re looking for someone proactive, organised and enthusiastic, with experience in countryside access or land management, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate others in a practical environment.
