Redbuild is an Edinburgh based building contractor specialising in refurbishment and restoration of traditional residential properties in and around Edinburgh. Due to ongoing contracts and scheduled repeat business, we have a fantastic opportunity for a foreman or supervising painter and decorator looking for a full time, permanent job.

We urgently need to recruit a time served painter and decorator with supervisory experience to join our existing team working on various sites within Edinburgh and Lothians. The successful candidate will work alongside and manage a talented team of painters and decorators and coordinate works on different sites with Redbuild site foremen.

The role will require the successful candidate to have the ability to cost work, plan work, organise materials, give instructions and training, manage progress and monitor quality while using their own initiative when working to tight deadlines on fast-paced building sites.

Ideal Candidate

  • A time served painter
  • Comfortable in all aspects of painting work including stripping, making good, preparation, papering, painting, snagging and problem solving
  • Able to deliver high quality work in bespoke residential projects
  • Knowledgeable of listed building works including reinstatement/restoration of period features
  • Able to work alongside a variety of tradesmen and ensure daily progress on site
  • Deliver high quality workmanship on a daily basis
  • Experienced in planning, preparing, costing and scheduling work on sites with several other trades and/or clients present on site
  • Able to manage/supervise painters and decorators

Desirable qualifications

  • CSCS Card or Certificate
  • PASMA Certificate
  • Asbestos Awareness Certificate
  • Driving License

This role is subject to a 3 month probationary period after which the employment will be reviewed by both parties.
