EXPERIENCED INSTALLER - CURTAIN & SOFT FURNISHINGS FITTER

Operating from our flagship studio at Redbrick in Batley, we work with prestigious global fabric and hardware partners - including Silent Gliss, Somfy, and leading designer fabric houses - to deliver immaculate residential and commercial interiors throughout Yorkshire, the UK, and internationally.

We are seeking a skilled, meticulous, and client-focused Curtain & Soft Furnishings Fitter. In this role, you will be the final touchpoint of our design and manufacturing process, responsible for the precision on-site surveying, fixing, dressing, and commissioning of bespoke window treatments and interior installations.

With over 40 years of British heritage and craftsmanship, Marsh & Co. is a luxury interior design studio and manufacturing house. From initial concept and 3D visualisation to local handcrafted production, we specialise in high-end bespoke cabinetry, fine furniture, and luxury soft furnishings.

You will execute flawless installations ranging from heavy hand-pleated wave curtains and tailored Roman blinds to motorised architectural tracking systems and occasional bespoke joinery elements, ensuring every project meets our rigorous standards of luxury finish.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Precision Installation: Install high-end manual and motorised curtain tracks, decorative poles, pelmets, laths, and blind systems (roller, Roman, Venetian, pleated) into diverse architectural substrates.
• Hanging & Dressing: Hang, steam, dress, and bandage bespoke curtains, drapes, and valances to achieve showroom-standard presentation and drape memory.
• Site Surveys & Measuring: Conduct accurate laser measures and site surveys, identifying structural fixings, wiring feeds, lintel compositions, and potential site tolerances before manufacture.
• Motorisation & Smart Integration: Fit and commission automated track and blind systems (e.g., Somfy, Silent Gliss, Lutron), setting motor limits and coordinating with site electricians or smart-home systems. (training provided, experience preferred)
• Bespoke Assembly & Snagging: Assist with the careful on-site assembly, placement, and levelling of freestanding and fitted cabinetry or upholstered furniture when required.
• Client Handover & Sign-Off: Provide a polite, immaculate client-facing service inside high-net-worth homes; demonstrate system controls to clients and secure final sign-off documentation.

ABOUT YOU

• Professional, discreet, and courteous manner when working in clients’ private homes and live designer sites.
• Methodical approach to problem-solving on site without compromising aesthetics or structural integrity.
• Clean, tidy working habits with complete respect for finished floorings and decorated interiors (using dust extraction, floor protection, and overshoes).
• Strong team collaboration with our studio designers, production workroom, and project managers.

REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3+ years of professional installation experience in soft furnishings, luxury window treatments, or bespoke interior fit-outs.
• Full, clean UK Driving Licence.
• CSCS card or willingness to obtain one (beneficial for new-build client sites).
• Comfortable working at height with relevant safety awareness.
