We are seeking to appoint an experienced, proactive and highly motivated School Business Manager (SBM) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key strategic role within a successful and welcoming primary school. This is a full-time position, with flexibility around how the hours are worked. We can offer one of the following working patterns:

  • 8:00am - 4:00pm working 4 days per week (with 30 min lunch)
  • 8:00am - 4:00pm working 5 days per week (with 30 min lunch)
  • Full-time weekly hours (37.5 hrs) condensed across 4 longer working days

We welcome applications from candidates able to start in either July or September 2026, offering flexibility to support existing commitments and notice periods.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Headteacher, the SBM is a valued senior team member and plays a central role in the effective day-to-day and strategic management of the school. You will lead and manage all non-teaching operations, including Finance, Human Resources, Premises, Health & Safety and whole-school Administration, helping to ensure that our children receive the very best educational experience in a safe, efficient and well-resourced environment. The successful candidate will also attend six Full Governing Board meetings and three Finance, Personnel and Premises Committee meetings each year, which are usually held in the evening.

The salary range is M1-M2 (points 32-40): £42,839 - £51,356 (actual salary, based on experience and agreed working pattern). The role is term time plus five INSET days (39 working weeks).
