We are seeking a highly Security Cleared, skilled, and experienced Security Manager / Consultant / Clerk of Works / Physical and Technical Security Officer to join our client's team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of construction and security quality assurance within the Defence and other Security sectors.
Role Overview:
As a Clerk of Works / Security Assurance professional, you will provide essential reassurance to our clients regarding all aspects of construction and security quality. You will oversee that secure details are constructed to specification in controlled areas of a UK MOD secure construction facility.
Your responsibilities will include advising relevant authorities on security details and construction processes, maintaining comprehensive documentation, and ensuring adherence to security protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections of construction and M&E works in progress for new-build and refurbishment projects.
- Verify compliance with drawings, warranty standards, and employer requirements.
- Prepare detailed written reports with supporting photographs and submit them promptly.
- Perform regular inspections to identify defects throughout the construction process, escalating issues as necessary.
- Organise snagging and end-of-defect inspections.
- Stay updated on building regulations and compliance through Continued Professional Development.
- Attend project-related meetings to report on quality, defects, and health & safety issues.
- Maintain strong client relationships as the client's representative, liaising with stakeholders and contractors.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Full driving license required.
- Current High Security clearance.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of NEC / JTC contracts.
- Understanding of RIBA Stages or other recognised construction industry delivery implementations.
- Background in Design, Architecture, Trade, or related construction/M&E fields, preferably with site project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clerk of Works ICWIC accreditation is highly desirable.
- Other designations such as CIOB, CABE, ICE, or CIBSE will also be considered.
- UK NACE trained.
