As a Junior Cyber Security Consultant, you will help clients address a range of cyber security challenges, from defining security policies, strategies and completing cyber risk assessments to assessing their exposure to cyber threats and implementing cost-effective security controls. You will provide both advisory and hands-on support in identifying, managing, and mitigating risks to clients' information and technology assets.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding business and information risk contexts, including key business drivers, cyber security threats, and implementation challenges.
  • Assessing risk at both technical and business process levels and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders.
  • Evaluating cyber security maturity within organisations and developing improvement plans.
  • Reviewing security controls against industry frameworks and proposing proportionate security enhancements.
  • Researching and analysing security technologies to support innovative solutions.
  • Leading client interviews and investigations to assess business impact.
  • Conducting site visits and threat assessments.
  • Applying standards, frameworks and methodologies (e.g., NIST, ISO27001, risk management models).
  • Creating comprehensive risk assessments and reports.
  • Supporting account teams in identifying new business opportunities and contributing to proposal development.

What Skills and Experience Will You Need?

Essential:

  • Ability to clearly articulate and present security advice, including technical details, to key stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • An undergraduate degree in Cyber Security or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A solid understanding of core cyber security principles and technical aspects.
  • Familiarity with risk management frameworks and their practical applications.

Desirable:

  • Experience with security tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks, including NIST and ISO27001.

Additional Requirements:

  • This role requires the ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
  • Travel to client sites at least two days per week.
