The Company: Redbay Boats is an internationally recognised leader in the design and manufacture of Rigid Inflatable Boats for both the commercial and leisure sectors. We are looking for a Joiner to join our production team.
Responsible To: Niall McLaughlin, Operations Manager
Status: 45 hours per week (8am to 5.15pm daily - Monday to Friday)
Pay: Up to £18 per hour, depending on experience
Location: Redbay Boats Limited, 1 Gortaclee Road, Cushendall, Co. Antrim, BT44 OTE
Job Role: This position will involve working closely under the guidance of highly experienced fitters and boat builders. The successful candidate will be expected to learn established methods, techniques and standards that are specific to Redbay Boats. Given the nature of our work, the standard of finish is critical - much of what is fitted remains visible and accessible to the customer, meaning a consistently high standard of workmanship, neatness and attention to detail is essential from the outset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct, fit and finish timber and composite joinery throughout the boat, including consoles, lockers, seating and cabinetry.
- Measure, mark out, cut and shape materials to fine tolerances from drawings and templates.
- Fit and align deck hardware, trims, hatches and ancillary fittings to a high standard of finish.
- Assist with general boat building tasks, including the assembly and installation of consoles, seating, deck hardware and ancillary equipment.
- Work closely with laminating, fitting and electrical trades to sequence joinery installation around other systems.
- Read and work from drawings, schematics and build specifications.
- Learn and apply Redbay Boats' established methods, techniques and quality standards.
- Maintain a consistently high standard of workmanship, neatness and finish.
- Carry out fitting checks and adjustments on completed joinery under supervision.
- Keep tools, equipment and the work area clean, organised and safe.
- Work flexibly across the production team and support colleagues as required.
The Requirements:
- Practical, hands-on experience on the tools preferred, ideally within joinery, cabinet making or carpentry trades OR willingness to learn and develop technical skills, with a strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
The Benefits:
