If you have a passion for engineering and a knack for problem-solving, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Our client is on the lookout for a Manufacturing Support Engineer based in London. This role requires a blend of technical skills and an understanding of electro-mechanical systems, especially within the optical manufacturing sector. This is a 6 month rolling contract on a rotating night and day shift basis (2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights).

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

  1. Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Optics, Opto-electronics or equivalent.
  2. Experience of electronics / optical manufacturing.
  3. Experience in electronic assemblies fault finding.
  4. Knowledge of optical components, optical measurements, optical instruments, basic optical principles.
  5. Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and believing in Lean culture/working environment.
  6. Experience in automated assembly and test measurement processes.
  7. Experience in data analysis, graphs, histograms plotting etc.
  8. Experience of high reliability product manufacture is ideal.
  9. Strong team player with good communication.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Provide technical support for submerged manufacturing.
  2. Prioritise and resolve critical manufacturing issues within reasonable timeframe.
  3. Ensure quality standards and support continues quality improvements.
  4. Ensure safety standards and support continues safety improvements.
  5. Analyse data to prove certain trends per contract and provide feedback to SCE.
  6. Dispose production technical JIRA requests (ITS) in timely manner.
  7. Support other new product introductions as required by management.
  8. Develop and maintain good communication lines with development engineers.
  9. Make improvements to existing test stations, that would include design simple station interfaces.
  10. Maintain cleanliness and lean working environment.
  11. Build, validate and commission test stations.
  12. Develop and maintain technical documentations.
  13. Ensure that test systems maintenance procedures are followed with proper paperwork and logbooks up to date.
  14. Participate in analysis and debug of Field returns.
  15. Training of employees working in submerged manufacturing.
