Our client is recruiting for a Junior Marine Consultant to join their team in Aberdeen. The Junior Marine Consultant will assist with planning risk assessments, document preparation, and offshore project execution on a full time, permanent basis.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
- Deck OOW Certificate of Competency and strong marine background
- Offshore certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Project support experience (advantageous)
- MS Office skills
- Degree in Marine Related Subject and/or minimum 2 years’ experience working onboard offshore vessels
- Knowledge of Offshore Mooring Operations, Temporary and Permanent mooring system types and intricacies, and Dynamic Positioning Systems (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including proven report writing ability
- Confident liaising and building rapport with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and to tight deadlines
- The ability to work accurately, with great attention to detail
- Flexibility to travel
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Assist to prepare quotations and provide technical inputs to proposals
- Support the development of operational procedures in accordance with company standards
- Assist in the development of risk assessments and planning ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Participate in client meetings
- Assist in reviewing project reports
- Work to maintain strong client relationships
- Contribute to improvement initiatives
- Attend offshore operations initially as Equipment Specialist / Deck Supervisor, progressing through to Client Representative and Tow Master roles through training and development
- Assist to support vessel briefings
- Assist with monitoring and recording operations
- Assist to support assurance activities
- Assist to compile reports
