We are looking for a Category Manager for our Glasgow-based client to identify value and service delivery improvements throughout the supply chain. Using Category Management and segmentation tools and processes, the role will drive best possible value throughout the supply chain.

  • Extensive experience within procurement/purchasing/contract negotiations.
  • Educated to a degree level.
  • CIPS Qualification.
  • A confident communicator who can take full autonomy of the role.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent Stakeholder Management skills.
  • Confident with Microsoft Excel.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Identifying, executing and implementing end-to-end strategic sourcing strategies to deliver strategic purchasing support in accordance with the business procurement and supply chain management.
  • Segmenting all suppliers on a commercial and risk basis and recommending an appropriate supplier management approach based on the given segmentation.
  • The ongoing performance and relationship management of specific key suppliers.
  • Act as a centre of excellence on contractual matters for the company through the provision of advice on Purchasing matters and holding regular quarterly reviews with senior internal stakeholders.
  • Identification of category opportunities which could provide benefit to the company.
  • Supporting tender evaluations.
  • Leading and supporting on supplier negotiations focusing on the commercial element of the tender.
  • Agreeing an annual savings target with the Strategic Purchasing Manager and delivering against the target every year.
  • Develop a regular reporting framework for each project to demonstrate delivery against the agreed savings target including all necessary back-up documentation and savings sign-off for each individual saving.
  • The development of a stakeholder management and engagement plan that will allow demonstration of a tailored management approach to all key stakeholders.
