We are seeking an outstanding and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teaching assistant who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential in a vibrant and inclusive secondary school.

The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and the SEND department to deliver high-quality support, intervention programmes and classroom learning across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned learning activities and interventions to individuals, small groups and whole classes.
  • Lead lessons and provide classroom cover during short-term teacher absence.
  • Support students with SEND, EAL and additional learning needs.
  • Monitor, assess and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain high expectations for learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning resources and support student achievement.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and educational visits where appropriate.
  • Support safeguarding, attendance and pastoral initiatives across the school.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds HLTA status or has substantial experience working at an advanced teaching assistant level.
  • Has experience supporting students within a secondary school setting.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can confidently manage groups of students and lead learning activities independently.
  • Has strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
  • Is committed to inclusion, equality and raising aspirations for all students.
  • Works effectively as part of a team while also showing initiative and independence.
