Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary school setting? Do you have strong communication skills and the confidence to manage a classroom? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Newham.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced educators, or individuals with experience working with young people.

The Role:

  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Ensure students remain engaged and focused on assigned work.
  • Provide support and guidance where required.
  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, or youth work setting.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Confidence leading groups of students aged 11–18.
  • A positive, proactive, and professional attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
