Experienced Sales Manager required to lead a team of protection advisers within an established FCA-regulated brokerage. Red Star Financial Services Ltd is an established and profitable FCA-regulated life insurance and protection brokerage, operating since 2010 and specialising in personal protection including life insurance, critical illness and income protection. We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and develop our team of protection advisers, working from a consistent flow of inbound web-generated enquiries. This is an opportunity for a proven Sales Manager to join a stable and well-established business and take an established sales operation to the next level. This is a hands-on management role focused on driving adviser performance rather than personal sales.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing and developing a team of protection advisers and driving consistent sales performance across the department. Working closely with the Compliance Team and the Lead Generation Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality business, strong adviser performance, and efficient use of inbound enquiries. The role reports directly to the Managing Director. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued growth of the adviser team, including recruitment, onboarding and development of new advisers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of protection advisers
  • Driving team sales performance and productivity
  • Monitoring adviser KPIs and sales results
  • Coaching and developing advisers to improve performance
  • Conducting regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews
  • Supporting advisers with sales structure and objection handling
  • Ensuring high standards of compliance and file quality
  • Working closely with the Compliance Team to maintain regulatory standards
  • Working closely with the Lead Generation Manager to maximise lead conversion and adviser productivity
  • Supporting the ongoing growth of the adviser team
  • Involvement in recruitment, onboarding and training of new advisers
  • Managing lead distribution and adviser productivity
  • Producing and reviewing sales performance reports
  • Reporting directly to the Managing Director

About You

We are looking for a proven Sales Manager who:

  • Has previous sales management experience
  • Has managed a team of sales staff or advisers
  • Has a track record of improving team performance
  • Is confident managing KPIs and targets
  • Has strong coaching and leadership skills
  • Is organised and performance-driven
  • Has strong communication and leadership ability
  • Is comfortable working in a structured sales environment
  • Is comfortable taking ownership of team performance and standards

Industry experience is helpful but not essential. Candidates from financial services, insurance, mortgages, utilities, telecoms or other structured sales environments will be considered.
