We are on the lookout for a Senior Quality Inspection Supervisor to lead a dedicated inspection team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
- Strong industry background in high regulated environments, electronics background (ideally to component level)
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
- Previous experience in an inspection role is required
- 5 or more years of People management experience
- Highly experienced in conducting risk assessments
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Ensure required product and process inspection activities are met throughout GH Production & IGI Areas
- Ensure inspected products meet specified requirements, raise JIRA ITS if non-compliant, cc Stakeholders
- Implement & maintain risk based methodology towards inspection activities, i.e., high risk items = 100% inspection; low risk = Sample inspection (IGI + Production Areas)
- Understand all people management policies and procedures; work closely with HR Manager as necessary
- Manage employee performance, development, training, attendance and adherence to quality and safety policies and procedures; manage any non-adherence through formal processes
- Provide mentoring support to the team leader and Quality Inspectors
- Implement process for ensuring all Inspectors are suitably trained & signed-off across all Production Areas
- Ensure all Inspection activities have been risk assessed prior to start; ensure RA Sheets are kept up to date and a copy kept within QI team. Responsible for Safety & Wellbeing of Quality Inspectors whilst at work
- Provide guidance on pass/fail decisions based on product technical specifications and/or acceptance criteria
- Conversant with types of measurement & inspection techniques including shadowgraph; CMM; Calipers; Micrometers, Talyrond (Surface Finish) instruments. Plus, understanding of Engineering Drawings (G,D&T)
- Present previous week's significant quality issues during GH Weekly Operations Meeting
- Send out weekly report summary of all IGI line items inspected, indicating whether inside or outside SLA
- Support RCA investigations in the event of significant non-conformance or when required
- Ensure all Inspectors follow applicable quality inspection requirements, obtain spec if required
- Lead quality related Improvement activities within Quality Inspection Team
- Foster strong Quality & Reliability culture within Quality Inspection team with zero tolerance to defects
- Ensure all suspect or n/c product quarantined are actioned (scrapped, returned to supplier, reworked or returned to stock) in timely manner
