Our marine client is seeking to add an Estimator to their skilled team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a specialist marine services company. The contract duration will be 3 - 6 Months, and the successful candidate can work from Aberdeen or Greenock.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

  • Proven experience in custom price building for dry dock work.
  • Ability to interpret job specifications and translate them into accurate resource requirements and project timelines.
  • Background in steelworks or mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Experience working within the marine and oil & gas industries, with rig experience being highly desirable.
  • Previous hands-on welding/fabrication experience (desirable).
  • Demonstrated experience in carrying out technical surveys.
  • Competent in developing planners and work programmes.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal operational teams.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for dry dock and related works.
  • Review job specifications and survey information to define scope, resources, and scheduling requirements.
  • Conduct site and technical surveys to support estimating and planning activities.
  • Develop and maintain project planners and work programmes to support delivery teams.
  • Work closely with clients, suppliers, and the wider operations team to ensure clear communication and alignment.
  • Support project execution by providing timely and accurate commercial and technical input.
