Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer looking for an exciting new opportunity? We have a fantastic role for you, based in Inverclyde – working with a small, agile Design team and multidisciplinary team you will be responsible for transforming concepts into reality. You would be joining a diverse group of engineers, each bringing unique expertise to the table, from naval architecture and marine engineering to electrical and automation systems.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven track record as an electrical engineer in both design office and construction environment.
  • Experienced and proficient technical, electrical design.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop and design electrical systems for marine vessels, including:
  • Power distribution systems (AC/DC).
  • Lighting and control systems.
  • Propulsion systems.
  • Automation and control systems.
  • Communication and navigation systems.
  • Safety systems (e.g., fire alarm, emergency lighting).
  • Perform electrical calculations, simulations, and load analysis.
  • Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE, LR, DNV GL), and MCA regulations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines appropriate to the role.
