About the client

Our client, a busy, thriving progressive and diverse Chartered Accountant, is looking for an experienced Audit Manager to join the team. This is a key role within the firm, offering exposure to a broad client base in Luton and throughout Bedfordshire.

Salary: £51,300 - £66,900 DOE years’ experience at Manager level.

Location: Luton, LU2 8DL

About the Role

The successful Audit Manager will be experienced working in practice in the UK and be able to demonstrate competence in all areas of auditing and accounting. Responsibilities include:

Audit

  • Plan, manage, and review statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Resolve technical auditing issues, escalating complex matters where appropriate
  • Ensure that files are complete and delivered to the Directors to review prior to fieldwork and client meetings
  • Ensure compliance with UK auditing standards, ethical requirements and internal firm procedures
  • Contribute to audit quality initiatives and support internal and external monitoring visits
  • Keep up to date with changes in accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards

Client Management

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of audit and accounts clients, acting as the main point of contact
  • Management of WIP and billing
  • Client onboarding, engagement, and disengagement

Accounts

  • Review statutory accounts prepared under UK GAAP (FRS 102 and FRS 105) and, where applicable, IFRS. Ensure accounts are completed efficiently and files are complete and delivered to the Directors

Tax

Company Secretarial

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, lead, supervise, and mentor staff, responsible for reviews and appraisals

About You

As an Audit Manager, you will require the following:

  • Fully qualified ICAEW, ACCA or CA
  • A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience for a manager
  • Significant experience within a UK accountancy practice
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and UK auditing standards
  • Experience managing and reviewing relevant assignments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
