Join a Specialist Investigation Team

We are currently recruiting for 8 experienced PIP 2 Investigators to support a specialist policing team responsible for investigating antisemitic and other priority hate crime offences. This is an excellent opportunity for accredited investigators to play a key role in protecting vulnerable communities and delivering a high-quality investigative response to serious and complex hate crime matters. The team works closely with established Investigation Teams, Neighbourhood Policing Teams, criminal justice partners, and specialist agencies to ensure thorough, victim‑focused investigations and positive outcomes.

The Role

  • Managing investigations to PIP 2 standards.
  • Conducting effective victim and witness engagement.
  • Identifying and implementing safeguarding measures where required.
  • Gathering, reviewing, and evaluating evidence.
  • Interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects.
  • Preparing comprehensive case files for prosecution.
  • Liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service and criminal justice partners.
  • Working collaboratively with Neighbourhood Policing Teams, specialist investigators, and Warden teams.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with investigative procedures and legislation.
  • Contributing to a consistent and professional approach to hate crime investigations across the force area.

Essential Requirements

  • PIP 2 Accreditation (essential).
  • Previous experience conducting criminal investigations to PIP 2 standards.
  • Strong knowledge of criminal investigation processes and legislation.
  • Experience of case building and preparing prosecution files.
  • Excellent communication and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to manage complex and sensitive investigations.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively with partner agencies and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to delivering a victim‑focused service.
