Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Associate for a UK Financial Regulatory body. The Digital Forensics Unit (DFU) offers digital evidence services, using advanced forensic techniques for acquiring, preserving, recovering and presenting digital evidence. The Forensic Science Regulator Act (2021) Code of Practice requires forensic science activities (FSA) involved in criminal cases to have effective quality management systems. Compliance is demonstrated by achieving accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025. The Quality Management Team oversees this accreditation process.
To meet ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements, the Quality Management Team is recruiting someone to assist with implementing and delivering the quality management system. This role supports maintaining high standards in forensic science activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safeguarding the integrity of digital evidence.
Location – Stratford, London (office based)
Contract – until end of February 2027
Pay rate - £22.96 PAYE / £30.13 UMB per hour
Main duties and responsibilities
- Quality Assurance Associate for the DFU, promoting and implementing quality standards in line with ISO 17025 requirements
- Supporting the Quality Assurance Manager and Lead, to develop and implement and maintain a Case & Quality Management System, ensuring compliance to the FSR Code and ISO standards
- Delivery of the internal audit and assurance process, under supervision and escalating where necessary, including identifying non-conformance arising from accredited activities including impact analysis and root cause investigation
- Supporting DFU with Method Development and Validation Exercises to demonstrate robust scientific methodology
- Identifying potential risks which may result in inaccurate, unreliable, misleading, or unclear results that could impact the Criminal Justice System
- Assisting the Quality Assurance Manager and Lead with the creation of processes, guidance and working practices along with associated documentation
- Assisting the Quality Assurance Manager to prepare submissions and paperwork for UKAS assessments and visits

Person Specification
- Minimum Experience undertaking quality assurance exercises and/or conducting internal or external audits
- Experience in digital forensics or forensic science, including working within a quality management system either ISO accredited or working towards ISO accreditation
- Experience of creating, developing and improving standard operating procedures, policies and work instructions for digital forensic science activities
